A Story of Two Wolves

An elder explained to a child, "A fight is going on inside of me. It is a terrible fight between two powerful wolves. One wolf is agitated, angry, fearful, rigid, arrogant and self-pitying." The elder continued, “The other is calm, courageous, joyful, adaptable, loving and kind. The same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person too.” The child pondered for a moment and then asked the elder, “Which wolf will win?” The elder softly replied, “The one you feed."
